Pyrocatechol Violet CAS 115-41-3 is red-brown crystalline powder. Easily soluble in water and water-containing alcohols, slightly soluble in cold absolute ethanol, and insoluble in non-polar organic solvents (such as ether, benzene, xylene). The aqueous solution is yellow, when the acidity increases, it turns from yellow to red. The aqueous solution is stable, but it is easily oxidized by the oxidizing agent.
